Our collaborative program offers treatment by board-certified neurosurgeons and orthopedic specialists working closely with your primary care physician to ensure continuity of care. Our goal is to treat your neck or back condition using non-surgical methods. However, if surgical intervention is necessary, our team's qualifications are backed by experience. We perform more than 2,500 spine procedures each year, from minimally invasive to major reconstructive surgery.

When to Seek Spine Care
Problems related to the spine cause numerous different symptoms, from chronic to acute and mildly annoying to debilitating. Some of the least serious conditions, such as a muscle cramp, often cause the worst pain; while potentially serious problems may have few symptoms. Early detection and treatment may prevent a condition from progressing, so don't hesitate to consult your primary care physician for any neck or back issues you face.

If you experience any of the follow symptoms, ask your doctor if you should be referred to Mission Spine Center:

  • Aching, cramping or radiating pain in the back,legs, buttocks, neck, shoulders or arms
  • Tingling, numbness or stiffness in the back, legs, buttocks, neck, shoulders or arms
  • Weakness or fatigue
  • Slouching posture or height reduction
  • Hunchback or curvature of the spine
  • Tenderness of the spine
  • Loss of mobility
  • Headache
  • Urinary or fecal incontinence

Symptoms That Need Immediate Attention
Some spine-related symptoms indicate a potentially serious spine problem and require immediate medical attention:

  • Loss of strength or sensation; progressive weakness in the legs
  • Fever, chills, sweats along with neck or back pain
  • Sudden loss of bowel or bladder control
  • Severe continuous abdominal or low back pain
  • Recent trauma
