Nursing Mission

Mission Statement
The mission of Mission Nursing is to promote health and wellness and provide compassionate, quality care.

Vision Statement
The vision of Mission Nursing is to be a nationally recognized model of professional nursing practice committed to excellence.

Values Statement
As we live our mission and pursue our vision, we are guided by the following values: Mercy, Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Trust, and Teamwork. Mission Hospital truly appreciates and recognizes our invaluable nursing staff for their commitment to high-quality and family-centered care.

Our nurses help make Mission Hospital the regional medical referral center for the western quarter of North Carolina and parts of several adjoining states.

As the area's "safety net" hospital, our nurses and staff help Mission provide nearly all medical and surgical services, including those that are greatly needed but are poorly paid by the government and insurers.

We serve all who need our hospital care, regardless of their ability to pay. Mission Hospital employs 1,600+ registered nurses and 90 licensed practical nurses.

Nursing Is...
"...making a different in the lives of our patients and families.  It is dedication and loyalty to provide the highest standards of our profession"

~Linda Shuford Hendricks, Director of MED/SURG and CCU/ICU
Blue Ridge Hospital
