Karen G. Lemieux is Vice President of Heart Services at Mission Hospital.

Lemieux brings more than 20 years of cardiology and cardiac surgery leadership experience, in addition to clinical experience in the specialty. Most recently, Lemieux served as the Executive Director of the Heart Center at Hawaii Pacific Health in Honolulu, a multi-hospital system, with a network of four hospitals totaling 543 licensed beds, 18 outpatient clinics, and 1,100 practicing physicians on four islands, where she was responsible for cardiology and cardiac surgery programs.

Prior to her roll at Hawaii Pacific Health, Lemieux served as the Vice President of Operations for Hawaii Pacific Health Partners, Inc., a for profit entity with ten joint ventures. There she worked closely with physicians and senior leadership teams to grow heart service volumes, develop new and innovative programs, improve the clinical quality of the heart program, and improve relationships across the state. She has proven expertise in business development and operations.

Prior to her role in Hawaii, she served in various leadership roles with Inova Health System in Falls Church VA, a 1,732 licensed bed system where she served as Associate Administrator and the Assistant Administrator of the Cardiac Service Line. There she established multiple transplant programs (heart, lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas) and the first Medicare approved Heart Transplant Program in the Washington DC area.

Lemieux holds a masters degree in Business Administration from Marymount University in Arlington, VA, an MS in Nursing Administration from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI as well as a Diploma in Nursing from Worcester Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA.
