Community outreach is one of our core values. Under the outreach umbrella, the Women's Health Center's has designated two distinct programs - education, including prepared childbirth education, and health fairs and screenings.
Health Fairs
Trained healthcare professionals from Mission Hospital will set up and staff a booth at area health fairs. They will help your fair attendees learn about women's health and can provide current information about heart disease, cancer prevention and ways to live a more healthy life.
Screenings
Women's Health Center staff will administer bone density screenings to women who may be at risk for developing osteoporosis. They can offer information about how proper diet and exercise can help build stronger bones. Our resource center staff conducts blood pressure screenings and can share information regarding risk factors for heart disease, cancer, genetic disorders, and diabetes.
