Head off workplace injuries with Mission's Ergonomics Program
The goal of Mission's ergonomics program is to help your employees prevent work related injuries that often result in lost work time and higher healthcare costs. The following classes and screenings are available for your company:
Work Injury Prevention Classes:
These classes are designed to teach employees to take responsibility for preventing cumulative trauma disease by using proper body mechanics and posture related to work activities. Each module includes a customized home exercise program designed around the type of work performed. Classes require approximately two-hour prep time and two-hour lecture time. An onsite visit is to gather data and to document poor worker habits. Photos are a prerequisite to allow improved employee motivation and understanding.
Neck-Arm School:
This is a two-hour class designed to prevent cumulative trauma disorders of the upper extremities & neck. The class is designed for employees who perform sustained or repetitive work. Examples include computer operators, receptionists, industry assembly, and machine work.
Back School:
This is a two-hour class designed to prevent cumulative trauma disorders of the back and lower extremities. The class is designed for employees who perform material handling, patient handling, lifting, sitting, & bending tasks.
Manager / Supervisor Training:
Full management support is vital for any work injury prevention program to be successful. We require managers / supervisors to be "on board" with the program before spending valuable resources for work injury prevention. This training is helpful in educating managers, supervisors, and engineers in the work injury prevention philosophy, and identifying job-related risk factors.
Onsite Consultation:
Onsite physical therapy screening is available in order to identify problems in the early stages before a full injury occurs. We provide screening for musculoskeletal disease and concurrent medical illness imitating musculoskeletal disease. This service includes self-care strategies, home exercise programs, work habit modification, and referral to a physician if needed. Recommendations are provided to management for basic work station modifications only if absolutely necessary. (Hourly Charge for onsite time).
Ergonomics Assessment:
This includes a full ergonomics workstation risk assessment based on OSHA standards, detailed video analysis, and documentation of risk factors. Recommendations are provided to management on whether a job task is at-risk for creating Cumulative Trauma Disease. Recommendations are made if necessary regarding options for changes to the workstation. Education is also available to the employee regarding taking responsibility for posture and prevention of injuries. (Hourly Rate-Job Dependent).
