Depression Management
Depression is a medical illness that can affect every aspect of your life, from taking care of your children, to forming the friendship bonds you need, to being a productive employee. Mission offers an employer-sponsored depression program that can help you handle your depression with as much success as is possible.
In this program you will start by talking one-on-one with your care manager, who is also a pharmacist specially trained in depression, to find out how much depression is affecting your quality of life and your ability to function day-to-day. Your care manager will ask you what medication, if any, you are taking, and will help you decide if you are getting the results you need and help you manage any side effects. Your care manager's goals are to ensure that you are:
- on the best medication for you
- on the best dosage
- consistently taking your medication
Medication is only one part of managing depression. You will also get help setting up a lifestyle program that is specific to your needs. It may include exercise, nutrition, stress management - or all three.
Your care manager will work collaboratively with your mental health provider and physician(s) for as long as you need.
The goal of Mission's Depression Program is to help you live successfully in life and work, without medication side effects, and enjoy good quality of life.
