Mission's Clinical Support & Development department members:
- Coordinate and provide formal nursing orientation and continuing nursing education opportunities for nursing staff
- Serve as resources for nursing clinical practice and nursing research
- Share expertise, knowledge, and skills in the immediate work environment and throughout the community, region, and nation
- Guide the professional growth and clinical development of nursing staff.
As a centralized department, we work with other nursing and non-nursing educators to eliminate duplication of educational services. Department members attend national, regional, and local conferences as participants and as presenters, always striving to recognize, share and implement evidence-based practice.
Clinical nurse specialists, nurse clinicians, and staff development coordinators serve on important multidisciplinary and nursing committees and councils to plan, problem-solve, and effect change.
We provide classroom and clinical expertise and serve as consultants for the general nursing staff. The people we work with are our greatest reason for doing what we do.
