Breast Program at Mission Hospital
Hearing you have breast cancer can be overwhelming. Women, who already successfully balance many responsibilities daily are often stopped in their tracks by a diagnosis. You are faced with treatment decisions that affect the rest of your life; you must learn a whole new vocabulary, to sort out your options, and you're just as concerned about how to continue to care for your family as you are about your own heath.
-
About Breast Cancer - Information available to help educate you and your loved ones about breast cancer and the latest treatments available.
-
Treatment Options - Our pretreatment planning can help with peace of mind because of the fact that medical professionals involved in your breast cancer care attend a weekly conference to review your case and develop a recommended course of treatment. This helps to assure that everyone involved is on the same page.
-
Nurse Navigators - Throughout your journey, you work with a nurse navigator, a skilled oncology nurse who helps you and your family understand treatment options and what to expect. Nurse navigators explain physical aspects of treatment decisions, refer you to resources, and provide emotional support at whatever level you need.
-
Support Services - The Breast Program at Mission Hospital also offers several support programs and resources to help you navigate throughout the process.
-
Additional Resources - A collection of online education and support groups that can help.
