For Medical Professionals

The goal of the Research Institute is to discover and share knowledge gained through clinical research that will improve the health of all people.

The Research Institute provides an array of services to researchers, including:

  • Facilitation of required Administrative Review and Approval for all research conducted at Mission per our Administrative Policy and Procedure.
  • Coordination of Clinical Trials and Sponsored Research Projects
  • Consultation and collaboration in research design, analysis and interpretation

Required Administrative Review and Approvals

Prior to starting a study at Mission, the appropriate hospital reviews and approvals must be obtained in addition to the review by the Institutional Review Board (IRB).  Various forms are used to document the approval and are available electronically by following the link to Administrative Approval Forms on this page.  A study protocol and the appropriate, completed forms should be sent to the Research Institute with the attachments specified on the forms.  Only forms applicable to the study need to be completed.  The Research Institute administrative staff is responsible for routing all forms to the proper departments/individuals to obtain approval.  Once the approved forms are received back from the departments and the IRB has approved the study, the Research Institute will send a confirmation letter stating that the study may begin.
