In Mission's Endoscopy department, you'll find a group of dedicated professionals who have specialized in the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques surrounding the use of endoscopes and endoscopic technology.
Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tube-like instruments (endoscopes) to view and assess the body's interior structures. Endoscopy is used for a variety of purposes:
- taking tissue samples
- diagnosing illness
- treating ailments
The Mission Endoscopy department provides additional services including dialysis catheter placement and children's dental restorations and extractions under general anesthesia.
Our Mission
We provide expert quality care and patient and family education primarily in the area of gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and renal catheter placement and children's dental medicine to Western North Carolina citizens who range in age from infancy to the elderly.
Philosophy
It is a fact of life in our profession that patients evaluate the quality of medical care they receive from the manner in which it is delivered and through personal contact with us, as well as from the technical level of our skills. To provide excellent service, we have to overcome our patients' and family members' personal experiences of pain, anxiety, and fear. Through personal attention to the core values of Mission — Mercy, Excellence, Respect, Integrity and Trust — we are better able to serve our patients, their families and our co-workers.
