At Mission Hospital, diversity refers to the recognition, appreciation, and use of the unique talents and contributions of all individuals.

Diversity goals are included in the hospital's strategic plan, and senior leadership promotes a culturally and ethnically diverse workforce. Mission's definition of "cultural competence" is a set of behaviors, attitudes, and policies that enable healthcare providers to work effectively in cross-cultural settings in achieving the business objectives for Mission Hospital.

Classes range from introductory to more intense personal reflection and awareness workshops.
