Valet Service Returns to Mission
06/06/2008
A popular amenity has returned to Mission. Valet parking service for both patients and visitors began on the Memorial Campus on Monday, May 12.

"The valet parking service was reinstuted to address a stated need from patient satisfaction surveys and also to alleviate the parking situation," said Jim Miller, VP of Clinical Operations. "We know that it's stressful for patients and visitors to try to find parking on our Campuses. We're trying to make it easier for them."

The service is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Outpatient Entrance of the Memorial Campus. There are three attendants to take the cars to a secure parking area and return the cars to the entrance. The service is contracted through Aramark, the same company that operates Mission's Environmental Services and Food & Nutrition Departments.

"Right now we are tracking volumes and times of heaviest usage to make sure we're serving our patients during the crunch times," said Dennis Polk, valet supervisor. "As needs change, we may need to expand the hours we operate."

As it is, even if a person stays past 5 p.m., they don't have to worry about retrieving their vehicle. Attendants will bring up any cars left after 5 and there is a number to call when they are ready to have their car keys delivered to them. So far this system is working well.

"Everyone who has used our new valet parking love it and say it's well worth the $4," says Polk.
