Mission Children's Dental Programs Get Boost from Tom's of Maine During January and February

Tom's of Maine, provider of natural dental care products, has teamed up with three local healthy grocers to raise funds during January and February for Mission Children's Dental Programs. This effort is part of Toms' of Maine's Dental Health For All Campaign, which has befriended Mission's Dental Programs for the past 4 years.

Greenlife and the French Broad Co-op held their fundraisers in January during which shoppers were able to purchase a Tom's of Maine donation card at check-out to add a gift to Mission Children's Dental Clinic when paying for their groceries. In addition, for every Tom's product purchased in January, Tom's of Maine donated $1 to help Mission Children's Dental Programs.

During the month of February, Dental Health Month, both Asheville Earthfare locations will also have the Tom's of Maine donation cards available at check-out, and Earthfare will also donate $0.05 for each bag the shopper brings in to reuse.

Further, in support of Mission Children's Hospital Together for Kids Radiothon which occurs February 20 and 21. Earthfare Westgate location will be holding raffles for Tom's of Maine gift baskets from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday 2/21, and Earthfare Hendersonville Road from 11 am to 3 pm on Sunday 2/22, the proceeds of which will support Mission Children's Dental Program. During these same times, Tom's of Maine representatives will be giving away toothpaste samples!

Approximately 91% of Mission's dental patients are covered by either Medicaid or Health Choice. The Mission Children's Dental Health programs care for low-income, HealthChoice and Medicaid-eligible children in our two mobile dental offices (the ToothBuses), the outpatient surgical area at Mission Hospital, and other regional hospitals.
