Mission Hospital Junior Volunteer Leaders, A day of service01/28/2009
Mission Hospital Junior Volunteer Leaders celebrated the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday as a day of service rather than just a day off from school. On Monday, January 19, six Junior Leaders prepared a meal for guests at the Lewis Rathbun Wellness Center.
Junior Leader Lauren Baldwin coordinated the planning for the meal, sampling recipes and creating a shopping list. As many as forty Rathbun Center guests enjoyed a meal of bakes Ziti, salad and desert. At the end of the day, the Volunteer Leaders elected to make an annual event of the Martin Luther King, Jr. service project.
