Patient population: Infants to adults
Nurse/patient ratio: 1:2-3
Weekend work schedule: No weekends

12-hr, 8-hr, flexible shifts: Most are 12 hrs with a few 8 hrs
Type of scheduling: Modified self-scheduling
Type of unit: Outpatient step-down recovery
Mix of patients: All types of surgeries, interventional radiology patients, children sedated for procedures

Length of orientation for nurses: Takes experienced nurses only; typically need 12-36 hours
