Medical Technology

Mission Hospitals is using some of today's most advanced technology to care for our patients.

CyberKnife® Radiosurgery
This noninvasive radiation treatment allows us to treat tumors of the brain, spine, lungs and other sites throughout the body, as well as lesions previously diagnosed as inoperable. By delivering highly precise radiation beams directly to the tumor, CyberKnife is able to avoid damage to surrounding critical structures.

da Vinci® Computer-Assisted Robotic Surgery
With the da Vinci surgical system, we're offering our patients the most advanced technology in minimally invasive surgery. Aided by a high resolution, full-color 3-D image of the internal structures, surgeons are performing complex procedures, such as prostatectomies and hysterectomies, through just 1-2 cm incisions.

PET/CT Scan
PET/CT is a powerful diagnostic tool that combines the anatomical imaging of CT (computer tomography) with the biochemical imaging of PET (positron emission technology). PET and CT alone have their limitations, but by obtaining simultaneous CT and PET scans, physicians can pinpoint exactly where in the body abnormal cell activity is taking place, allowing for more accurate diagnosis and monitoring and more precise treatment.
