Abdominal surgery includes:
- Appendectomy (removing the appendix)
- Colon and small intestine
- Gallbladder
- Hernia
- Liver, pancreas and spleen
- Stomach and duodenal (the first portion of the small intestine)
Many abdominal procedures are laparoscopic. More complex procedures and cancer surgery often require open abdominal surgery.
