Pet Therapy

Animal assisted therapy can help enhance a child's physical, occupational or speech therapy goals.

Through Paws with a Purpose, a non-profit volunteer driven organization, we are now able to used trained pet therapy volunteer teams to work one-on-one with our children under the direction of their therapist.

Specific goals vary with the child and may include:

  • Upper and lower extremity range of motion and strengthening, balance, mobility, gross/fine motor coordination
  • Visual perceptual skills
  • Eye/hand coordination
  • Attention span and memory skills
  • Socialization and communication skills
