Adult Services

Adult Respiratory Services cover many aspects of care at Mission Hospitals. Our services are provided to Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Pediatrics, Maternity, Neurosciences, Oncology, Orthopedics, Psychiatric, Rehabilitation, Vascular, Wound Care , Urology, Surgical and Heart Services. Therapists assess the patient's pulmonary requirements to determine the optimal level of respiratory therapy needed. Therapists actively participate in the development of several protocols along with physicians, nurses, and other staff members. These protocols include:

  • Intermittent Therapy Protocol
  • NPPV Protocol
  • Asthma Path
  • Adult Ventilator Path, which provides Independent Ventilator Management.

Therapists are certified in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and elective and emergent intubations. The therapists manage a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment such as computerized ventilators, high frequency oscillators, nitric oxide and other means of life support. The Respiratory Therapists are a vital member of the healthcare team. Respiratory Services strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology and medical procedures.
