Information About Orthopedic Research

Mission Hospitals is committed to scientific research in orthopaedic surgery. We support and conduct research involving patients that shapes the future of evidence-based orthopaedic practice. This includes clinically relevant research involving patients to answer questions related to the usefulness of examination procedures and diagnostic tests, the effectiveness, efficacy and safety of surgery and other therapeutic interventions and the power of prognostic indicators. We actively participate in orthopaedic research and education. As a result of this commitment, we have financial arrangements with Orthopaedic manufacturers to support these activities. Gordon Groh, MD is currently conducting clinical research on hip fractures and total shoulders that is sponsored by DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc.
