 Types of Tumors
|
- Malignant tumors, both primary and metastatic.
- Benign tumors, such as meningioma, epidermoid, dermoid, hemangioblastoma, colloid cyst.
- Subependymal giant cell astrocytoma, and craniopharmyngioma.
- Pituitary tumors and other hypothalmic disorders.
- Cranial base tumors, including acoustic neuromas and other lesions of the base of the skull.
- Pediatric brain tumors.
These are treated in the Pediatric Hematology/ Oncology program at Mission Children's Hospital. The children's oncology program works closely with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, a national advocacy and education foundation based in Asheville.
