Blood Pressure & Cholesterol

People with high blood pressure and/or elevated cholesterol levels can learn to manage the disease through Mission's Health Education Center's comprehensive education program. The program consists of both individual and group consultation with experienced, specially trained educators. The team of educators includes a nurse case manager, nurse educator, pharmacist, dietitian and certified clinical social worker/behaviorist.

The education program's core component is a series of classes meeting once a week. Classes provide information on nutrition, medications, stress management, exercise and activity, as well as general care guidelines for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. The goal of the program is to allow participants to achieve optimal health as a result of positive lifestyle decisions that can help them avoid future medical complications.
