Mission's Health Education Center offers a comprehensive asthma education program to help individuals with asthma deal with all aspects of the disease. Under the guidance of a nationally certified asthma instructor, an individual asthma self-care plan is designed to enable the person to participate as fully as possible in daily living.
The center also co-sponsors Camp WeCanDo, a 1-week residential summer camp for children with asthma and diabetes. The camp offers a full range of summer camp activities, including swimming, climing and hiking. The camp is supervised by a full-time medical director. The camp staff includes physicians, nurses and a respiratory therapist.
